Create templates

Templates are the foundation of your SafetyCulture experience, serving as digital checklists that guide your team in collecting information and completing inspections. They play a key role in defining your team's daily workflow, shaping how reports are structured, and helping you capture the most important information.

Within SafetyCulture, templates are built and customized using the intuitive Templates feature, where you can add questions, sections, and logic fields to match your operational needs, as well as manage access to control who can create, edit, and use them. By standardizing these processes and controlling access appropriately, templates help teams save time, reduce errors, and maintain consistent, high-quality reporting.

Build your own template from scratch. A new template automatically includes a default title page and a blank inspection page. Select this option if you want full control and prefer to design your template step by step.

Enter a few words to describe your template’s purpose. SafetyCulture uses a third-party AI provider to generate suggested content as a starting point. Please note that this option is currently only available in English. Select this option if you don’t have specific questions in mind yet, but already know the topic you want to cover in your inspections.

Upload an existing form in XLSX, PDF, JPEG, or PNG format to automatically convert it into a template. This option is best if you already have an existing form or questionnaire. Instead of copying and pasting, upload your file to generate a template instantly.
